— Police have identified a woman whose body was recovered from Shoal Creek on Saturday afternoon as Beth A. Martin, 32, of Joplin.
Martin matched the description of a woman who ran from a vehicle that crashed during a police pursuit early April 8, according to a release from the Joplin Police Department. It is unknown if Martin was driving the stolen vehicle at the time it crashed.
Although the investigation is ongoing, police previously said no foul play is suspected in Martin’s death.
