Several injured in traffic accidents
A Mount Vernon man was injured in a single-vehicle accident at 3:40 p.m. Tuesday on Route K, five miles north of Aurora in Lawrence County, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.
Jeffrey R. Nash, 17, was taken to Cox Medical Center South in Springfield, the patrol said.
Nash was driving a southbound car that left the road when he attempted to pass another vehicle and overturned, the patrol said.
n A Joplin woman was injured in a three-vehicle accident at 10:55 a.m. Tuesday on U.S. Business Highway 71, a half-mile south of Joplin in Newton County, the state patrol said.
Beverly R. Morrison, 31, was taken by ambulance to Freeman Hospital West, the patrol said.
Morrison was driving a southbound car that ran into the rear of a southbound car driven by Samuel K. Agee, 16, of Joplin, after Agee’s vehicle struck the rear of a southbound vehicle driven by Lacy L. Johnson, 64, of Neosho, when Johnson stopped to make a left turn, the patrol said.
n An Arkansas man was injured in a single-vehicle accident at 7:50 p.m. Monday on Route E, two miles south of Longview in McDonald County, the state patrol said.
Charles A. Mason, 47, of Hindsville, was taken to Freeman Neosho Hospital, the patrol said.
Mason was driving a southbound van that ran off the road and struck several trees, the patrol said.
n A 16-year-old driver was injured in a single-vehicle accident at 12:18 p.m. Monday a quarter-mile west of 130th Street on 630th Avenue in Crawford County, Kan., according to the Crawford County Sheriff’s Department.
Zachary Kimberlin, 803 W. Kansas Highway 47, was taken by ambulance to Girard Hospital, the report said.
Kimberlin was driving a westbound car that ran into a ditch and rolled several times after Kimberlin lost control of the vehicle on some loose gravel, the report said.
n Both drivers were injured in a two-vehicle accident at 11:51 a.m. Monday at Main and 17th streets in Joplin, according to the Joplin Police Department.
Tarrell Johnson, 32, of rural Neosho, and Darlene Taylor, 71, 615 W. 33rd St., were taken by ambulances to unspecified hospitals, the police report said.
Johnson was driving a southbound car that collided with Taylor’s northbound car as Taylor made a left turn, the report said.
