A 38-year-old Joplin man was hospitalized in serious condition from a beating he suffered over the weekend, according to police.
An unidentified man found Timothy B. Livermore, 3501 W. 24th St., on the ground unconscious about 4:20 p.m. Saturday outside 912 S. Connor Ave. and called for help. Livermore reportedly had a severe laceration to the back of his head and was taken to Freeman Hospital West.
Cpl. Chuck Niess of the Joplin Police Department said Livermore told police he was jumped by four men and was struck in the head with a piece of pipe. The felony assault remained under investigation, Niess said.
