Several businesses in downtown Columbus were damaged by this morning's storm. Volunteers at Westco swept up broken glass from a shattered window.
Wind also blew the roof off White's Garage and Welding nearby.
Cherkee County Sheriff David Groves said other damage has been reported at Scammon and Weir.
A mobile home south of Columbus also was destroyed by this storm. The owner of the mobile home said the occupant went to work early, avoiding the storm.
A grain bin at Faulkner Grain in western Cherokee County also blew loose, slamming into Dana Hilderbrand’s mobile home, moving it about two inches off its foundation.
