Four passengers were injured in a bus accident at 10:10 a.m. Thursday on Chapel Road, a mile south of Carthage, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Injured were James M. Hogen, 80, of Oakdale, Minn.; Joanne D. Turnquist, 66, of Vadnais Heights, Minn.; Georgie H. Westphal, 65, of Cottage Grove, Mo.; and Karita E. Wienke, 69, of Little Canada, Minn. They were taken to McCune-Brooks Regional Hospital in Carthage, the patrol said.
Kenneth D. Trainor, 67, of Elmwood, Wis., was driving the southbound bus when it left the road, and struck a culvert and a utility pole, the patrol said.
n A 28-year-old man suffered serious injuries in a two-vehicle accident at 9:22 a.m. Thursday at Highway 69 Bypass and Quincy Street in Pittsburg, Kan., according to the Pittsburg Police Department.
Travis A. Stewart, of Humboldt, Kan., was taken by medical helicopter to Kansas University Medical Center in Kansas City, police said. He was a passenger in a car driven by Amanda K. Fager-Magne, 21, of Rogers, Ark.
Fager-Magne’s northbound vehicle ran into a car driven by Michael Brader, 40, of Altamont, Kan., who was stopped for a red light, police said.
