A 23-year-old man pleaded guilty Friday to two counts of felony assault on Webb City police officers responding to a domestic disturbance.
Jason G. Miller, of Webb City, changed his plea to guilty at a hearing in Jasper County Circuit Court in Joplin in accordance with a plea agreement with the county prosecutor’s office that would limit the prison time he might be required to serve to no more than five years.
Circuit Judge David Mouton ordered that a sentencing-assessment report be completed on the defendant and set Aug. 1 as the date for his sentencing.
Miller punched one Webb City police officer in the face and kicked another with his legs after being placed in handcuffs during a domestic disturbance Aug. 17 of last year at 920 Meagan Lane in Webb City, according to court records.
