Someone disabled an alarm system at South Side Antiques in Joplin before breaking into the business, and stealing cash and merchandise.
The owner of the antiques business discovered the break-in Wednesday morning and reported it to the Joplin Police Department. Police Cpl. Chuck Niess said the store’s alarm system was disabled, and the glass in a back door was broken out by the burglar.
Niess said an undisclosed amount of cash was taken from an office, and gold, jewelry and knives were stolen from the displays of various vendors.
