Congressional hopeful Jack Goodman unfurled a roster of endorsements this afternoon, noting he already had strong support from state lawmakers in the 7th Congressional District.
Goodman, a state senator from Mount Vernon, is already one of five Republicans bidding for the party nomination to succeed U.S. Rep. Roy Blunt.
Today he announced that he already had the support of more than 50 state and local officials representing the district, including Reps. Kevin Wilson, R-Neosho, Marilyn Ruestman, R-Joplin, and Ed Emery, R-Lamar.
“Our campaign is going to be about bringing our national Republican party back to the principles that made it great,” Goodman told a small crowd in Joplin.
Goodman also said his campaign planned to have a strong grassroots infrastructure, featuring a leadership team in every county.
Goodman’s announcement came the day after his Senate colleague Gary Nodler announced he would be entering the race. Besides Nodler and Goodman, three others have also announced their campaigns: auctioneer Billy Long, Greene County Prosecutor Darrell Moore and college teacher Jeff Wisdom.
