A Lamar man remains hospitalized after a weekend ATV collision with another vehicle, according to officials at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin.
Michael White, 28, is listed in fair condition at the hospital this afternoon.
White was a passenger on an ATV driven by 15-year-old Marcell White, also of Lamar. Marcell White was treated and released at Mount Carmel Regional Medical Center in Pittsburg, Kan., on Sunday evening.
The crash occurred at 12:27 p.m. Sunday, according to a release from the Kansas Highway Patrol.
White’s vehicle was southbound on Free Kings Highway near Frontenac, Kan., when a car driven by Gary Lee Pernot, Girard, Kan., attempted to pass on the left side, the patrol said. Marcell White attempted to turn left into a private drive and struck Pernot’s vehicle in the front passenger side.
