GALENA, Kan. — Galena Days is in full swing with free concerts and events set for tonight.
The festivities kick off at 5 p.m. with a taco salad and ice-cream dinner and will be followed by bingo. Musical performances by Duke Mason begin at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. There also will be a perfomance by the Galena High School Dance Team.
Drawings for prizes such as a swing set, a Lazy Boy chair and cash begin at 10 p.m. tonight.
Saturday is the last day of Galena Days. Events will start at 8 a.m. with the Classic Car Show. The day will be full of entertainment performances by the Route 66 Cloggers, Diversity Band and Live Wire. There will also be a fireworks display at 8:15 p.m.
The celebration will end with the coronation of Miss Galena at 10 p.m. followed more drawings for prizes, including a 2009 Hyundai Accent or $10,000 cash.
Galena Days is sponsored by the Galena Volunteer Fire Department and is held on City Hall property in Galena.
