A 33-year-old woman is facing felony drug charges following her arrest Thursday night at a Joplin motel.
Lt. Brian Lewis, of the Joplin Police Department, said officers were called to the Riviera Roadside Motel at 3333 S. Range Line Road regarding a motel guest with outstanding warrants. Charla M. Marlow, of Carterville, was placed under arrest on a Jasper County warrant, he said.
While an officer was at Marlow’s room in the motel, he allegedly spotted a spoon with burnt residue in plain view. A search then allegedly turned up small amounts of methamphetamine and marijuana, drug paraphernalia, 93 pills of hydrocodone, five pills of Zolpidem and components used in the manufacture of meth, including a jar of chemical believed to contain acetone.
A male who was in the room was released without charges. But Marlow was taken to Joplin City Jail and charged by the Newton County prosecutor’s office with felony possession of a controlled substance and possession of chemicals with intent to manufacture meth.
