— Crawford County fried chicken restaurants were among the winners in the Eight Wonders of Kansas Cuisine promotion announced this morning.
The six chicken restaurants were a single entry in the promotion. Winners were chosen by mail and online voting.
The restaurants are: Chicken Annie’s Original, rural Pittsburg; Chicken Mary’s, rural Pittsburg; Gebhardt’s Chicken and Dinners, Mulberry; Barto’s Idle Hour, Frontenac; Chicken Annie’s Girard; and Pichler’s Chicken Annie’s, rural Pittsburg.
Josie’s Ristorante in Scammon was a finalist in the promotion by the Kansas Sampler Foundation, but it didn’t make the final eight.
