— Two people were injured in a single-vehicle crash at 9:39 a.m. Friday on Kansas Highway 47, just east of 170th Street, according to a release from the Crawford County Sheriff’s Department.
Jalachi Justice, 16, and Charles Dugone, 76, both of Mulberry, were seriously injured in the crash. Dugone was flown to Freeman Hospital West in Joplin, while Justice was taken by ambulance to Girard Medical Center, the release stated. Both had to be extricated from the wrecked vehicle.
Justice was driving an eastbound vehicle that left the road, struck a culvert and went airborne, authorities said. The vehicle landed in the ditch and overturned on the passenger side.
