— A Sheldon man suffered serious injuries in a motorcycle-car accident at 9:50 a.m. Tuesday on Route DD, four miles northeast of Sheldon in Vernon County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Clinton L. Fowler, 70, was flown by medical helicopter to Freeman Hospital West in Joplin, authorities said.
Fowler was riding an eastbound motorcycle that was struck by an eastbound car driven by Tucker D. Ewing, 18, of Nevada, when Ewing attempted to pass Fowler just as Fowler was making a left turn, the patrol said.
