A Wheaton woman was injured in a one-car accident at 7 a.m. Friday on Route E, two miles south of Powell, in McDonald County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Stacia K. Holmes, 19, driver of the car, suffered moderate injuries. She was taken to Mercy Hospital, Rogers, Ark.
The patrol said Holmes’ southbound vehicle ran off the left side of the road, struck an embankment and overturned.
n A Texas woman was injured in a two-vehicle accident at 12:50 p.m. Friday on Interstate 44, a half-mile east of Mount Vernon, in Lawrence County, the patrol said.
Gale M. Veach, 57, of Denton, Texas, driver of one of the vehicles, sustained minor injuries. She was taken by ambulance to St. John’s Regional Medical Center, Joplin.
The other driver, Ryan R. Falk, 24, of Springfield, was not injured.
The patrol said the westbound Veach vehicle traveled off the road, struck the median cable and overturned. Debris from her vehicle struck the Falk vehicle, which was going east.
n A Goodman man was injured in a one-vehicle accident at 1:20 a.m. Friday on Route C, four miles east of Goodman, in McDonald County, the patrol said.
Johnny Bowzer, 26, driver of the vehicle, suffered moderate injuries. He was flown by medical helicopter to Freeman Hospital West, Joplin.
The patrol said Bowzer’s westbound vehicle ran off the road, struck a ditch, and overturned.
n A Baxter Springs, Kan., man was injured in a motorcycle accident at 6:15 p.m. Thursday on Missouri Route 66, two miles west of Joplin, in Jasper County, the patrol said.
Christopher W. Collinsworth, 26, driver of the motorcycle, sustained serious injuries. He was transported to Freeman Hospital West, Joplin.
The patrol said Collinsworth, who was going west, ran off the right side of the road to avoid a vehicle that was turning to the right. The motorcycle struck a sign, ran into a deep ditch and overturned several times.
