Several injured in traffic accidents on roads in area
A Carl Junction woman was injured in a two-vehicle accident at 1:30 p.m. Thursday on Peace Church Road, a mile west of Joplin in Jasper County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Cindy L. Brown, 46, was taken to Freeman Hospital West in Joplin, the state patrol said.
Brown was driving a southbound vehicle that was struck by a westbound vehicle driven by Christina M. Tomlinson, 20, of Carl Junction, the patrol said. Brown’s vehicle then overturned, went off the roadway and struck a fire hydrant and a stop sign, the patrol said.
n A Kansas man was injured in a single-vehicle accident at 11 p.m. Thursday on Missouri Highway 86, two miles south of Joplin in Newton County, the patrol said.
Ren R. Patterson, 21, of Baxter Springs, Kan., was taken to Freeman Hospital West in Joplin, the patrol said.
Patterson was driving a southbound vehicle that ran off the road when he swerved to miss a deer, the patrol said.
n A Carthage man was injured in a two-vehicle accident at 9:50 p.m. Thursday on Missouri Highway 96, three miles east of Carthage in Jasper County, the patrol said.
Daniel A. Patrick, 54, was taken by ambulance to McCune-Brooks Regional Hospital in Carthage, the patrol said.
Patrick was driving an eastbound pickup truck that ran off the road, struck a fence and overturned after being struck in the rear by an eastbound car driven by Angela M. Early, 35, of Carthage, the patrol said.
n A Nevada man was injured in a single-vehicle accident at 8:11 a.m. Thursday on Route E, six miles east of Montevallo in Vernon County, the state patrol said.
Benjamin R. Johnson, 32, was taken by ambulance to Nevada Regional Medical Center in Nevada, the patrol said.
Johnson was driving a westbound pickup truck that ran off the road and struck a tree, the patrol said.
n A Kansas man was injured in a single-vehicle accident at 8:39 p.m. Thursday on Indian Springs Road, two miles southeast of Kansas, Okla., according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
Nick Garner, 20, of Wichita, Kan., was flown by medical helicopter to Washington Regional Hospital in Fayetteville, Ark., after the accident, the state patrol said.
Garner was walking in the roadway when a northbound car driven by Shelly Risenhoover, 29, of Kansas, Okla., struck him, the patrol said.
