A Papa John’s pizza deliveryman reported being robbed at gunpoint Thursday morning in the 2800 block of South Pearl Avenue in Joplin.
Cpl. Chuck Niess of the Joplin Police Department said Matthew Stratton, 29, was delivering pizzas for the pizza business at 1931 S. Main St. when two men ordered him to the ground, and stole his wallet containing cash and checks.
Niess said Stratton saw just one of the men, and he appeared to have a handgun. But Stratton could hear a second male voice, Niess said.
The case remained under investigation later in the day without any arrests having been made.
