Felony drug charges have been filed by the Jasper County prosecutor in connection with arrests made recently by Joplin police and the Jasper County Drug Task Force.
Amy N. Ogden, 30, has been charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute in connection with a search Aug. 13 of her home at 307 N. Joplin Ave. by members of the drug task force and the narcotics unit of the Joplin Police Department.
The Jasper County Sheriff’s Department reported that undisclosed amounts of methamphetamine and marijuana as well as drug paraphernalia were seized in the search. Ogden later posted a $10,000 bond and was released.
A Joplin police officer arrested a 32-year-old man at 1:36 a.m. Sunday for allegedly drinking beer in public outside 1102 W. Seventh St. A felony charge of possession of a controlled substance was added when the officer reportedly found six pills of the prescription drug Klonopin on the person of Michael P. Douglas, 1621 Erie Lane.
Francis V. Messer, 43, of Pittsburg, Kan., was charged with felony possession after a Joplin police officer arrested two men for allegedly fighting at 1:15 a.m. Sunday in the 2200 block of South Joplin Avenue. Several Xanax, Ambien and other pills reportedly were found in Messer’s possession, police said.
