COLUMBUS, Kan. — Six people were arrested Wednesday in Treece, rural Baxter Springs and Columbus on suspicion of methamphetamine manufacturing and other possible charges.
The raids and search warrants were conducted by officers from the Community Narcotics Enforcement Team, including the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Department and the Ottawa County (Okla.) Sheriff’s Department.
Items seized during raids were suspected meth labs, suspected methamphetamine, suspected marijuana and suspected meth ingredients.
No formal charges against the suspects were available on Thursday.
The Baxter Springs Police Department, Kansas Bureau of Investigation and Southeast Kansas Drug Task Force also participated in Wednesday’s operation.
The arrests follow the arrest of five people last week in Miami, Okla., where a suspected meth lab was seized.
