A Joplin business could be out more than $20,000 in a suspected case of employee fraud, according to a Joplin Police Department report.
American Fibrex, an insulation manufacturer at 1220 W. Murphy Blvd., reported the matter to police on Monday.
Police Cpl. Chuck Niess said a former employee who resigned in early September is suspected of having used a company credit card to obtain more than $800 worth of gasoline. Niess said the company also reported 22 checks missing that had been made out and cashed for a total of about $20,000.
Niess said no charges had been filed by Tuesday.
