The Joplin Recycling Center at 1310 W. A St. has switched to winter operating hours.
The change affects operating hours Tuesdays and Thursdays, which will be from 2 to 6 p.m. The center’s other hours are the same all year: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
The center is open to people who live outside the Joplin city limits as well as city residents, according to Mary Anne Phillips, recycling coordinator.
Items that are accepted include cardboard, fiberboard, magazines, plastic bottles, glass, metal, plastic shopping bags, cellular telephones, ink and toner cartridges, and batteries.
Packing peanuts and bubble wrap are available for free, and the use of a paper shredder is free.
