A former postmaster of the city of Nevada entered a guilty plea Thursday in federal court in Kansas City to conspiracy to commit sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion.
Dennis Henry, 51, of Wheatland, pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Dean Whipple in what U.S. Attorney Beth Phillips has described as one of “the most horrific cases ever prosecuted in this district.”
A sentencing date will be designated later.
The case involves a young woman, described in court documents as “FV” for female victim, who allegedly was held captive for years as the sex slave of a Missouri couple. She had been locked in a cage, and subjected to electrical shocks and other torture, authorities said.
Henry, another man who allegedly held the woman captive in a trailer home in a wooded area near Lebanon, and three other men were arrested and charged in connection with the alleged torturing and sex trafficking.
By pleading guilty, Henry admitted that he engaged in sex with the victim and participated in torture sessions with her that would last for hours.
Henry also pleaded guilty to transporting the victim across state lines for sexual activity.
