JOPLIN, Mo. —
Wednesday afternoon, less than 24 hours after his easy victory in the Republican primary for U.S. Senate, Roy Blunt was in Joplin at the local GOP headquarters for a rally.
The Joplin stop was one of six in a tour of Missouri towns that began Wednesday and continues today.
To the gathering that consisted mostly of other winners in GOP primaries Tuesday, Blunt noted what he sees as the key points in his campaign against Democrat Robin Carnahan in the race for the office being vacated by U.S. Sen. Christopher “Kit” Bond.
His remarks were preceded by those of Springfield auctioneer Billy Long, who is the GOP nominee for the 7th District U.S. House post now held by Blunt.
“There’ll be plenty of time to rest next year,” Blunt told the Globe when asked about being on the stump immediately after the primary. “By the end of this (tour), I’ll have visited all 114 counties, listening to Missourians about their concerns.”
Similarly, Carnahan is continuing her “Stop the Bull” tour, which began in May and continues this Saturday in Springfield.

‘A creek runs through it’ concept posed for new JHS

Neosho council approves new golf cart contract
