PITTSBURG, Kan. —
The Colonial Fox Theatre Foundation has received a $25,000 gift from an anonymous donor toward a $500,000 fundraising goal.
The foundation is trying to raise $500,000 by Oct. 31 to take advantage of a $500,000 Save America’s Treasures grant through the Department of Interior and National Park Service.
The donor has agreed to add another $25,000 when the effort reaches the $475,000 mark.
The theater at 409 N. Broadway opened in 1920 and closed in 1985. It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2008.
