KTC to host competitions Friday

PITTSBURG, Kan. — Hundreds of students from area high schools will converge on the Kansas Technology Center at Pittsburg State University Friday to compete in two events hosted by the KTC and PSU’s College of Technology: Gorilla Games and SkillsUSA Kansas.

The Gorilla Games competition will run from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and will include more than 200 area high school students who will take part in a variety of technology-related competitions ranging from structural testing and quiz bowl to trebuchets, dragsters and robotics.

Demonstrations also will take place, ranging from electronic gaming, construction simulation, sawmill demonstration and antique tractors.

The KTC also will host the cabinet making and photography portions of the SkillsUSA Kansas technical skills competition on Friday.
