JOPLIN, Mo. — Joplin police have released the name of the 30-year-old woman who was shot and wounded this morning at 1402 S. Wall Ave.

The woman, who was taken to St. John’s Regional Medical Center, has been identified as Monica T. Young. The Joplin Police Department said Young lives at the address where the shooting is believed to have taken place sometime before 5 a.m.

Officers were called to the hospital in reference to the shooting at 4:47 a.m. Police were not releasing information on how many times Young was shot or the location of her wound or wounds.

A man who took Young to the hospital, Cebron C. Finley, 26, has been taken into custody on some outstanding city warrants and a felony warrant out of Oklahoma while an investigation into the shooting proceeds.

No charges have been filed as yet in connection with the shooting.
