FENTON, Mo. —
A former Chrysler plant in St. Louis County that once employed thousands of autoworkers is about to be rubble.
Demolition is under way on one of two side-by-side Chrysler plants in Fenton. Production at the plants ended for good last year. St. Louis County officials are trying to find a new use for the site.
KTVI-TV reports the plant should be completely demolished by the end of the year.
St. Louis County officials have expressed an interest in developing an alternative energy technology park at the former Chrysler site.
