COLUMBUS, Kan. — Two Cherokee County teenagers have been charged with felonies related to fires, property damage and burglaries.

County Attorney John Bullard on Wednesday charged Brandon Youngblood, 19, of Riverton, and Johnny Robinson, 18, of Galena, in Cherokee County District Court.

Each is charged with four counts of felony arson, one felony count of burglary and one felony count of contributing to a child’s misconduct. Each also is charged with eight misdemeanor counts of criminal damage to property.

According to a news release from the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Department, the two are alleged to have gone throughout southeast Cherokee County damaging mailboxes, breaking into buildings, setting fires, and damaging vehicles and yards. One of the alleged crimes involved a fire at a ballpark concession stand in Baxter Springs.

The defendants were being held late Wednesday afternoon in the Cherokee County Jail, in lieu of $100,000 bond each.

Sheriff David Groves said he will seek charges against additional suspects.
