Three people were injured in a two-vehicle accident at 5 p.m. Tuesday on U.S. Highway 160, four miles west of Lamar in Barton County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The drivers, Cathy L. Williams, 57, of Liberal, and Sheila S. Shelton, 41, of Sheldon, and a passenger in Shelton’s car, Daniel D. Berning, 53, of Sheldon, were taken to Barton County Memorial Hospital in Lamar, the patrol said.
Williams was driving a westbound car that ran into the rear of Shelton’s westbound car as Shelton’s vehicle was displaying some mechanical problems and she was reducing her speed and trying to pull off the roadway, the patrol said.
