WEBB CITY, Mo. — The Webb City Board of Education at its meeting Monday formally approved Anthony Rossetti as the next superintendent of schools.
Rossetti, currently superintendent of the Miller (Mo.) R-2 School District, will begin in July. Superintendent Ron Lankford in November announced his retirement, which will take effect June 30.
Rossetti told the board Monday that he will spend the next few months preparing for the transition.
“My family and I are very excited to be part of the Webb City team,” said Rossetti, already a Webb City resident.
In other business Monday, the board:
* approved the 2010-2011 school calendar, which will have 175 days of class. School will begin Wednesday, Aug. 18, and end Friday, May 20.
* approved the resignation of Bobbie Dykens, principal of Webster Elementary School. Dykens will retire at the end of the school year.
* approved easements related to the widening of Madison Avenue and the development of Stadium Drive.
