JOPLIN, Mo- —
Kandise Couch, of rural Sarcoxie, Mo., was charged today with two misdemeanor counts related to three horses and two burros seized Feb. 27 from a property east of Baxter Springs in an emaciated condition. Two dead horses and what is thought to be the bones of a third horse also were found on the property.
Couch is charged with misdemeanor animal cruelty and misdemeanor unlawful disposal of animal carcasses. A summons has been issued for her to appear in Cherokee County District Court on Monday, May 3.
