From staff reports
JOPLIN, Mo. —
After being closed for nearly two weeks, the ramp that carries traffic from Hearnes Boulevard to Interstate 44 has reopened.
The access to the interstate was closed to construct a new on-ramp that was closer to the interstate.
Angela Eden, spokeswoman for the Missouri Department of Transportation, said a new exit ramp from the interstate to Hearnes also is being constructed. The exit ramp will not be closed before it opens. Work to complete that ramp will begin in earnest in the coming week.
As soon as the ramps are completed, work will shift to the construction of a roundabout just south of the ramps that will serve 50th Street, Hearnes Boulevard and Glendale Road.
