Wyandotte Tribe plans to open Seneca Sonic in October

SENECA, Mo. — The Wyandotte Nation is planning to open a Sonic Drive-In  in Seneca in October.

To be located on Missouri Highway 43  just off U.S. Highway 60, the restaurant is part of the tribe’s effort for economic diversification, according to a news release from the tribe.

Kelly Carpino, chief executive officer of the Wyandotte Tribe, said the Sonic will result in 30 to 35 full- and part-time jobs.

“The opportunity to put a Sonic Drive-In in Seneca that will serve surrounding communities is really enticing to us,” Carpino said in the news release. “It brings something to the area that we think is needed and gives a boost to these local economies.”
