Joplin’s CVB director retiring

From staff reports

JOPLIN, Mo. — Vince Lindstrom, director of the Joplin Convention and Visitors Bureau, is retiring effective Nov. 1.

Lindstrom said Friday he set his retirement date off until then because he wants to help finish the Mother Road Marathon, which he created,  scheduled Oct. 10 along Route 66.

“I’m going to be 69 years old and I’ve got things on my bucket list I have to do,” Lindstrom said Friday of his decision to retire.

Lindstrom started the job on Jan. 2, 2008, after moving to the Joplin area because his wife is a native here. He had been working as sales director of Legal iGaming in Tulsa, Okla., before he took the Joplin job.
