A 26-year-old woman was injured in a two-vehicle accident at 8:21 a.m. Tuesday on West Fourth Street near Tyler Avenue, according to a Joplin police report.
Shannon N. Townsend, of Joplin, was taken by ambulance to St. John’s Regional Medical Center, police said.
Townsend was driving an eastbound car that crossed the center line and struck a westbound truck driven by David C. Smith, 56, of Joplin, police said.
n Three people were injured in a single-vehicle accident at 11:59 p.m. Monday on East Newman Road near North Range Line Road, Joplin police said.
The driver, Summer D. Dean, 25, of Webb City, and two passengers, Stephen S. Jones, 20, and Aaron S. Dunn, 31, both of Joplin, were taken to Freeman Hospital West in Joplin, police said.
The eastbound pickup truck ran off the street and struck a railroad signal pole, police said.
n Two people were injured in a two-vehicle accident at 1:29 p.m. Monday on Interstate 44 in Joplin, police said.
The driver of one of the vehicles, Jeffrey S. Smith, 34, of Joplin, was taken by ambulance to Freeman Hospital West, police said. A passenger in the second vehicle, Mary F. Shinkle, 61, of Grove, Okla., was taken to St. John’s Regional Medical Center, the report said.
Smith’s westbound pickup ran into the rear of a westbound pickup driven by Wayne R. Shinkle, 64, of Grove, as Shinkle slowed to a near stop for traffic backed up because of construction, the report said.
