Flood watch in effect for Northeast Oklahoma

TULSA, Okla. — A flood watch remains in effect through Thursday morning for Northeastern Oklahoma, according to the National Weather Service office in Tulsa.

The remnants of Tropical Storm Hermine are to bring a wide swath of rain of two to five inches, and in some localities six to eight inches, to parts of eastern Oklahoma, the Service has reported. The heavier rains could be possible to the north and west of a line from McAlester to Muskogee to Miami.

In Missouri, the National Weather Service in Springfield warned that the potential for heavy rain and flooding will increase tonight and Thursday as the remains of Hermine move northeast from the Southern Plains into central and southern Missouri.

A flash flood watch continues for portions of Southeast Kansas and Missouri, including the Missouri counties of Jasper, Newton, McDonald and Barry.
