Mo. Republican AG candidate discusses veterans

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — A Republican running for Missouri attorney general says he wants to focus on helping veterans and those serving in the military.

St. Louis attorney Ed Martin said Monday he is particularly concerned about protecting absentee voting rights, boosting awareness of career opportunities and the availability for mental health care for veterans and service members.

Martin says he would work to consolidate services state government offers veterans and those on active duty. In addition, Martin says he would urge the state Legislature to help military members and their families.

Martin served as the chief of staff to former Gov. Matt Blunt. He is running against Livingston County prosecutor Adam Warren in the Republican primary. Democratic Attorney General Chris Koster is seeking re-election.
