WEBB CITY, Mo. —
The Webb City Board of Education on Tuesday certified the results of last week’s bond issue election and named new officers.
Kevin Crane and Dan McGrew both took the oath of office for their terms on the board. Crane was also elected as board president. He had previously served as vice president from 2011-2012. Jeanne Newby was selected as board vice president.
The board also certified results from the April 2 election, when Webb City voters endorsed a $9 million school bond issue for safe rooms and other district projects. The measure passed 1,031 to 333. The measure will help fund an $18 million effort to construct six-safe rooms across the community. The district received a $7.2 million grant from FEMA to help cover part of the costs.
