NEOSHO, Mo. —
Staff of Access Family Care’s Neosho Clinic on Friday celebrated its grand opening with members of the Neosho Chamber of Commerce.
The clinic at 412 E. McKinney St. is Access Family Care’s first clinic in Neosho. The former medical office of Dr. Ed Porter was remodeled and opened quietly in April 2012. Debra Davidson, chief operating officer, said word spread quickly and people found it.
Davidson said the clinic accepts Medicaid and Medicare patients.
“We’re a family practice clinic,” Davidson said. “We can take people of any age.”
Clinic hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, except Thursdays, when the clinic stays open until 7 p.m.

A 59-year-old man was sentenced to 15 years in prison Monday after pleading guilty to sexual abuse of a developmentally disabled 8-year-old girl in Joplin. Robert L. Newton pleaded guilty in Jasper County Circuit Court to first-degree statutory rape, first-degree statutory sodomy and felony failure to appear in court in a plea agreement with the prosecutor’s office.
