Public hearing scheduled for Joplin redistricting proposal

WASHINGTON — Joplin school officials will hold an information session on their proposed redistricting plan beginning at 6 p.m. tonight at the administration building, 3901 E. 32nd St.

The plan would redraw existing boundaries for several elementary schools and would also change the middle schools into which four elementary schools currently feed students. If approved, it would take effect this fall.

Anyone wishing to comment on the plan will be able to do so during a public hearing before the Board of Education, which will begin at approximately 6:30 p.m. tonight.
