Community Foundation of Southeast Kansas taking donations for Hurricane Sandy victims

PITTSBURG, Kan. — The Community Foundation of Southeast Kansas is accepting donations to assist with recovery from Hurricane Sandy along the East Coast.

"We are prepared to send the contributions to non-profit agencies or partner community foundations in that area to assist the victims,"Cathy White, executive director, said in a statement. "As in the past, when the Foundation has helped with other national disasters and those closer to home, we take responsibility to link the charitable giving from this region with those in need."

Those making a contribution may make checks payable to Community Foundation of Southeast Kansas, specifying on the memo line: “Superstorm Sandy.”

Contributions may be mailed 100 S. Broadway Ste. 100 Pittsburg, KS 66762 or dropped by the office. Contributions also may be made online at www.southeastkansas.org or by calling 620-231-8897 8:30-4:30 Monday through Friday. Donations are tax deductible.
