SENECA, Mo. —
The Save the Seneca Branch of the Neosho-Newton County Library committee now is the Seneca Library Foundation with nonprofit status under the umbrella of the Neosho Area Business and Industrial Foundation Inc.
The Seneca Library branch is facing potential closure on June 30, unless money can be raised to keep it open.
Josh Dodson, president of the Seneca Chamber of Commerce, has organized the effort. He said he will ask the Neosho-Newton County Library Board at its meeting next week to formally dissolve the previous group.
A community meeting is planned for 3 p.m. Sunday, March 24, at Seneca City Hall to hear ideas about fund raising, he said.
