A group of protestors picked up their chants as President Bush’s motorcade passed within about 100 yards of them on the Missouri Southern State University campus.
Waving their fists and hand-made signs, the protestors chanted “Bush lied, people died” and “No blood for oil.”
Uniformed officers stood near the protestors on a blocked off street near the Taylor Performing Arts Center.
Inside the Leggett & Platt Center on campus, Bush began speaking to the crowd right at noon, after being introduced by U.S. Sen. Jim Talent.
