Sonya Harris, Operations Manager for a Tar Creek buyout trust, has resigned, citing problems with the way appraisal contracts have been handled.

Her resignation was effective June 19.

“It has been made clear in a number of instances that direction was given by the Secretary of Environment’s office that overrode the instruction given by the Trust and me,” states the resignation letter.

Harris also stated that she believes, “the Trust and the Secretary of Environment’s office have grossly underestimated the complexity of the estimated $50 million buyout.”
