Three people were injured in a two-vehicle crash on Saturday morning on the business loop of Highway 71, about one mile south of Pineville, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Injured in the accident at 10:45 a.m. Saturday were Judith L. Nelson, 64, of Pineville, driver of one of the vehicles; Librado Cruz, 57, of Rogers, Ark., a passenger in the Nelson vehicle; and Linda E. Vannoy, 46, Rogers, Ark., driver of the other vehicle.

Vannoy and Cruz were transported by ambulance to Northwest Regional Hospital in Bentonville, Ark., while Nelson was taken by ambulance to Freeman Neosho Hospital.

The accident happened, the patrol said, as Nelson was attempting to turn south on Highway 71, and her vehicle traveled into the path of the northbound Vannoy vehicle.

n A Pierce City man was injured after he lost control of his vehicle and struck a culvert on Friday night, according to the Missouri patrol.

At about 11 p.m. Friday, Jeffrey s. Brown, 46, was traveling south on Highway 37, about two miles west of Pierce City, when his vehicle ran off the road and hit a culvert.

Brown was transported to Cox Monett Hospital.
