ST. LOUIS (AP) — Two members of St. Stanislaus Kostka church in St. Louis are seeking the removal of the Rev. Marek Bozek on grounds that he is promoting ideas contrary to Roman Catholicism.
The parishioners say they will seek his ouster on Sunday.
The Polish-heritage church has been involved in a dispute with Archbishop Raymond Burke, who has removed the parish’s Catholic standing and declared Bozek and parish board members excommunicated.
Parishioners Roger Krasnicki and Alice Kaminski say they speak for several members who want Bozek removed. They tell the St. Louis Post-Dispatch the parish’s dispute with Burke is over money and control, not dogma.
Bozek says he is aware of the criticism from what he calls a small group. He denies changing any matter of faith.
