A Joplin woman is facing a felony assault charge after she allegedly stabbed her boyfriend with a large kitchen knife during an argument at their home.
Police were called at 10:35 p.m. Saturday to 225 1/2 N. Jackson Ave., where they found John R. Wuagneux, 39, with a stab wound in his upper arm, according to Cpl. Chuck Niess of the Joplin Police Department. Wuagneux was taken by ambulance to the emergency room of St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Joplin, Niess said.
Niess said Wuagneux told police that his girlfriend, Keri L. Matthews, 38, stabbed him during an argument. Matthews was arrested and later charged with first-degree domestic assault.
