NEVADA, Mo. — The Vernon County Sheriff’s Department is looking for an armed man who robbed a convenience store on the Missouri side of the Kansas state line and is believed to have fled in a noisy, old pickup truck.

The Fisca Oil gas station and convenience store reported the robbery at 9:52 p.m. Monday.

The Sheriff’s Department said a man about 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall and weighing 200 to 250 pounds entered the business wearing a gray, hooded pullover, carpenter-style blue jeans, a dark-colored ski mask and brown jersey gloves.

The robber forced a female cashier out of a restroom she was cleaning and locked her in a storage room. He stole a blue bank bag with “UMB” lettering on one side and “Fisca” on the other. The bag contained an undisclosed amount of cash.

The Sheriff’s Department said the robber may have fled in a dark-colored, 1980s model Ford Ranger truck either lacking an exhaust system or having a loud one.
