GALENA, Kan. — A clothes dryer caught fire, burning a hole in the wall of a house at 7555 Northeast Liberty Road, said Chad Stapleton, a driver with the Galena Fire Department.

Stapleton said Tonya Gath, the owner of the single-story, frame house, had the fire nearly extinguished by the time firefighters arrived. The department received the call at 9:35 a.m. Tuesday. The location is 14 miles north of Galena.

There were no injuries.

The department had one truck and three firefighters at the scene. Firefighters left at 10:15 a.m.
