A 27-year-old Joplin man was killed when the motorcycle he was riding collided with a pickup truck Wednesday afternoon on West Seventh Street at Schifferdecker Avenue.

Angelo Cruz was pronounced dead at the scene of the 1:09 p.m. accident, according to the Joplin Police Department.

Cruz was riding a 2005 Suzuki motorcycle westbound on Seventh Street, and it collided with an eastbound pickup truck driven by Robert Crane, 51, of Joplin, as Crane was making a left turn at the intersection, according to the Police Department.

n Both drivers were injured in a two-vehicle accident at 5:24 p.m. Tuesday on U.S. Highway 71 in Jane in McDonald County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Terrie L. Garwacki, 47, of Anderson, and Miranda R. Bourgeois, 24, of Decatur, Ark., were taken to St. Mary’s Hospital in Rogers, Ark., the patrol said.

Garwacki was driving a southbound car that was struck nearly head-on by Bourgeois’ northbound vehicle, the patrol said.
